My overall body of work is influenced by my love of urban culture and fashion, thus exploring various relationships in pop culture. Furthermore, my main source of inspiration for my figures stems from various luminaries in pop culture that I admire who have impacted me and our society through their disciplines. I start by taking certain physical characteristics of those people that I admire, then I later abstract those features as I place them on a blank surface. Those luminaries that I saw as sources of inspiration later become abstract representations within my work. Through the exploration of color and shape, I have been able to develop this body work. My goal has always been to develop a body of work that has a certain majestic presence that would resonant feelings of empowerment and comfort within my audience.
